I LOVE it!!!!!
Ben has so much energy....and is, hopefully, going to finish his Championship soon....I was thinking about agility! Don't know if I could keep up tho!
What do they need to know before to start agility?
So neat!!... I love to see a Pug doing agility!!

Mom (Grandma Geri) says that Charlie "has the gift" meaning, I think, that Charlie is treat motivated. Match that with Grandma's energy and a lot of practice make for a fun little agility dog.
Mom runs Charlie plus her two other dogs (a bichon and a westie) nearly every weekend at the local Teacup, CPE, and AKC agility events.
I don't know where she gets the energy! I've only run Charlie once when Mom was recovering from surgery. It was Charlie's first official event. I've got titanium joints in my back and am nowhere near as spry as Grandma Geri!

Diane, when I went to my first agility class years ago with Willy, he knew practically nothing. I had shown him, so he was fairly focused on me which helps a lot! He knew "stay" and I had just taught him to sit, he didn't even know down yet.
The absolute biggest thing is just that the dog thinks *you* are fun and will work for something...food or toys or even better a combination of the two. Other than that sit, down, stay and come everything else they learn as they go.

I am new to the forum and had no idea that pugs could do agility, that is so impressive!!!!
That's so impressive! I've always wanted Abby to do agility.. she has so much energy! Now, though, with her knees not as pretty as they once were, I wouldn't dare try to get her to move that fast.
