On Sunday, Wonka and I will be performing our newest Canine Musical Freestyle routine in public for the first time. We're going to a competition in Davisburg, MI and we'll be dancing to Air Supply's song "Dance with Me" and I'm REALLY hoping that Wonka actually DOES DANCE with me!!!We've had a few crummy runs at recent competitions and so I'm trying a few new things this time around to see if it makes a difference. He just seems to get "stage fright" or something.... I don't know if he's picking up on my nerves or the building environment and other nervous/excited dogs, but whatever it is, it had been getting progressively worse instead of better......... SO, I'm hoping we can turn a corner this time. I'd be pleased if he just had a happy face/attitude in the ring, even if he didn't do the routine. That's all I'm looking for right now... the same happy "I wanna dance" attitude that he gives me in practice, but to see it out in the ring!
So, wish us luck! If Wonka actually dances and hubby gets a good video I will post it.

Best of luck to you and Wonka. Make sure you video tape it and post it when you get back. I am sure you will both do fantastic.

Wow that sounds really neat. Be sure and record it so you can post it. Good luck. I hope you do fantastic.
I've been wondering if you and Wonka still dance. Best of luck, hoping Wonka is able to relax and enjoy himself.

Yes, Wonka and I have been dancing all along, we just haven't had much worth videoing and posting. Our new routine is a little different from our other stuff in the choreography and Wonka seems to really like the routine (lots of spins, which he enjoys). I just hope he shows that same attitude when we're out in front of an audience.

Good luck to you and Wonka. Hope he overcomes his stagefright and enjoys himself.
We never touch people so lightly that we don't leave a trace.
Thanks all! It wasn't our best performance at all, but considering the awful HEAT (90F outside and only a little better inside) and the stressful events surrounding the weekend (which I won't bother going into right now), I'm very proud of Wonka for being a little trooper and at least doing SOMETHING in the competition ring with me.He didn't do everything I asked for, but he looked so happy when we did his favorite moves. So, I'm pleased with it overall.
Hubby took a couple of videos but I haven't watched them yet (got home late last night and we lost electricity in our house! No A/C until the power came back on around 2:30am.Then I had to be up early this morning after very little sleep during the past few nights.) Anyway, I will try to look at them soon and if they are worth sharing I will post a new thread with a link.
