Village Dancin' Jitterpug
Whew! We did it! (K9 Freestyle) Well, Wonka and I did our solo and group "dog dancing" routine in front of a LARGE group of nursing home residents AND day care kids this morning. It was a big audience (maybe 50 people!) and it was our first time in costume and everything. The dog show demonstration that we've been practicing for is just a couple of weeks away and my instructor set up today's demo to help me get more audience practice. I'm really proud of how well we did, but Boy, am I glad it's over!
Lately, when Wonka and I have been practicing in the backyard it seems like he's not as into it lately and not giving me as much attention - and that worried me... I wasn't sure if he was losing focus because it's just not fun anymore, if I'm pushing him too much or if the backyard just has too many good smells. But today, with a new environment and a big crowd, he was on top of his game and wound up tight. I think having an unfamiliar environment actually helps him focus more.
