Could all the PV pugs out there send their best pugvillage vibes for Wonka and I to receive good scores on our Canine Freestyle (dancing with dogs) routine? We sent in our Video entry a couple of weeks ago and, based on the timeline, it should be this week and next that the judges will be in the process of viewing and judging all entries. If Wonka and I get a qualifying score, we will have completed our Beginner Title and will move on to compete in Novice at the live May competition. I won't actually hear the results for another couple of weeks, but I think right now is when they are doing the judging.
The scores are made up of 2 parts: Technical Merit (content, execution, flow, etc) and Artistic Interpretation (quality of choreography, costume, harmonious interaction/bonding, etc.) You can receive up to 10 points on Technical and another 10 points on Artistic. We must have an average score of at least 7.3 to qualify... but obviously I want to do a LOT better than that!Something in the 9's would be AWESOME!
Thanks everyone!

The LOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG wait for results from doing a video competition is hard. With a live competition, you know your score that same day. But, there are several advantages to doing a video (like picking your own location and time to record the video)... so I guess it's even.Plus, everyone who enters a video competition gets a copy of the master DVD with EVERY performance on it! 63 people from all over the world entered this particular competition, so I'll have 63 dog-dances, at all levels, to watch! That will be fun.
I don't know if I can post it for general public viewing until it's judged and my scores are back, but I will let everyone know when I've got it online for viewing. After the live May competition, Wonka and I plan to 'retire' this routine and start working on a new song.
