Friends of ours have a son that doesn't gain weight quickly either but he's also not very tall. Our 7 year old is a tall string bean! How tall is your son? If his height is proportional to his weight then it's probably less of an issue.

He's 44 inches tall. We had the ped do an xray to check his bone age, and supposedly he was less than a year off from his biological age. I've wondered about the adhd thing. He's such a picky eater, it drives me nuts!

I used to weigh a healthy (?) 180 pounds (I am 5'7") and then started losing weight without any dieting. This went on for over a year. In the middle of that year I was found to be diabetic! Total surprise. Not in our family at all. Then, after getting that under control, I just kept losing and losing. Had a total body scan to find if there was a cancer in there or something. Shoulders down to my hips. Well, after about 1-1/2 years they found I had a tumor on my spinal cord in my NECK! (Not in the scan.) If you're losing weight for no reason, get checked out and keep checking until you find a cause. I am fine now, but was too thin when I had the surgery and got even thinner by the time I got out of the hospital. You need a little fat on your bones for a rainy day.

If you like peanut butter add a lot of that to your diet. It's full of healthy fats, protiens, and carbs. It tastes great and is a couple tablespoons is around 200 calories.
