I am not for them but lots of people do use them
they say they do toxic the system and so on
I am down about 70 pounds over 5 years but that was from starting to eat right and follow canadas food guide. the doctor said that is all I needed and it worked out good for me..
how are your feelings on the starvation diets?
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........
They are seriously dangerous and the results don't last. Most people who lose weight too fast put it back on plus some.

Not for them here! My cousin did it and she had some other problems on top of that but she did loose weight but not the right way. Also i love food to much to not eat.
some people swear by them
but they are not for me either
I eat good and healthy most of the time....lol
and not put any of the weight back on
kinda hold my own these days

I think the words "fad" and "starvation" say it all.

Any diet that advocates dropping one or more food groups (like Atkins, which is not starvation, but seriously..????) is just sheer stupidity. Any diet that makes you lose more than 1 - 2 lbs a week is not safe. We just don't like having to work for outcomes, everything has to be a quick fix.

What is the difference between the starvation diet, anorexia and bulimea? We would not hesitate to call rescue for a dog as thin comparatively as some of the middle age actresses in the entertainment industry today.
Well said Ellen

I agree - can't just overload on a single food group. When I was reading your post the beggin strips commercial started playing in my brain. It's portion control, take your normal plate of food and shrink. Unless that plate of food is unhealthy to start with, then trade plates as well.
Sadly, you still have to read the label on the food you buy to see if it is worth buying. My favorite is a locally distributed cheese food presented as american cheese but----the label says 'not a good source of calcium.'
