    Default The Dukan Diet

So I started the Dukan Diet in the beginning of March so I could lose the 40+ lbs I put on during Chemo.

I must say I am in love this diet. So far I am down 12.5 lbs and could not be happier. Bubba loves it too, because I take him for walks and jogs without Benny. So we get some outdoor bonding time. And my Bubbers is getting ripped as well. lol

    My goal weight is 125lbs

Its a no sugar, no fat, oils and low carb diet. It has 4 phases. Right now ill be in phase 2 until I reach my goal weight.

I even bought a sexy bikini for my motivation! lol

I've never heard of this kind of diet, it sounds difficult. What do you eat? :o Mostly vegetables?

I always start a food diary this time of year, as I inevitably put on weight during the winter. It's worse this year, as I had a lot of health issues this winter, and gained more than I usually do because of meds.

I find that a food diary just keeps you very aware of what you're eating, and I make sure to get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. The more water I drink, the fuller I feel as well, and that really helps me.

Good idea of buying a bikini as motivation! I'm too scared to go swim suit shopping yet haha. I'm rooting for you!

Right now in the morning I eat 1 light and fit yogurt with 3 tbs of pure organic oat bran and scrambled egg whites.

Lunch I usually eat organic hot dogs or lunch meat.

Dinner is a lean meat usually fish or Chicken and mixed veggies.

For snacks or cravings I eat a couple slices of lunch meat or some fresh broccoli

I do this for 4 days then do 4 days of pure protein only.

Once i hit my target weight Ill be in phase 3 where ill slowly add the other food groups back into my diet but also give my body time to regroup from the weight lose. My plan says if I keep at it I should be at my goal weight in the beginning of July.

Thanks! I just want all my cute pre-cancer clothes to fit again!

    Well done!

The diet is pretty much the same as Atkins, from what I can gather.

Kinda like atkins, But because of health issues I am forced to eat carbs by my doctors. But I keep a strict limit of how many I can eat in a day.

Hey Leenie! Good job! I am sure that the pounds dropping off must be exciting. I need to lose 40 lbs and I am not sure how to. I love my carbs and giving them up seems so hard I have read about the Dukan weight loss program. I liked their concept of no-restrictions and a systematic 4 phased plan. Gradual transition in weight loss is very important, I think. Reading your story here is making me tilt towards this weight loss method. I think I’ll give it a shot. Please keep us posted and continue to be an inspiration for us.

I found so far the best diet that I have tried
is to follow Canada's Food Guide....
pretty much the government suggestions but it works out good
I lost about 70 pounds this way
over 5 years but kept if off for 3 more years already
    some more to loose
    but the diet is basically
    lots of fruits and veggies
    smaller portions of meat
and carbs are allowed but restricted too

you can search google for Canada's Food Guide
pretty simple and covers all the food groups

way to go Leenie on your weight loss
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........
