Default Orijen - worth the money?

I've heard mention of Orijen a few times so I have just checked to see if we can get it in the UK.

We can but it is ruddy expensive unless I buy it in huge bulk.

The info on the website sounds great.

So - does anyone else use Orijen? Or have you used it in the past? Any adverse effects?

I'd welcome your honest opinions before I go shelling out for 3 months' supply!

    Bella,

I just switched all of our pugs to Orijen about a month ago. Was going to go to Fromm but decided due to the diverse needs of our pack Orijen was the best option. So far we have had no problems and have made an easy transition.

We have Titan who has food allergies and he has had no problems and since he is no 9 we have him on the senior food. Everyone has adjusted well. We were on the Innova and the Orijen is a bit more but I am happy with the change.

One thing to mention the kibble is slightly larger and they do not have a "small bites" version but we have not had any problems. It still is small enough for all of my pugs and no problems with consumption.

If I wasn't feeding raw or Ziwipeak, Orijen would be my next choice. Of the hard kibbles, it is supposed to be the best.

    Take care,

I had all our dogs on it for about 3 months.... It is very expensive but i didnt mind as it was measnt to be one of the bests out there. It never agreed with Angus his poo was very slimy and over the 8/9 weeks it stayed the same even tho i changed there diet slowly...So i put it back to royal canin and his poo and condition is fab again.

I'm really interested in this as well . When Gertie finishes the huge bag of puppy food we bought from her breeder - which seems to be agreeing with her really well I have to say - we want to move her onto the best hard kibble we can find. Luckily we only have her to feed so it shouldn't be TOO expensive

For the UK people - what are you feeding your furbabies?

I am currently feeding James Wellbeloved. Was on their regular kibble which is good but have just switched to their totally grain-free as Snifter has hot spot issues.

Grain free JWB is similar in price to Orijen but only if you buy Orijen in the 13kg bags.

JWB is good, and I would generally recommend it, but I am looking at other stuff due to the hot spot issue.

I've heard and read a ton of good stuff about Orijen as well. Right now Charlie is on Solid Gold, which seemed to be great at first, but now his poop is quite stinky again, and he is quite gasey again...so I think we'll likely switch him over to Orijen as well.

I had my dogs on it for awhile....but it was just too heavy on their stomachs and had diarrhea. So I then switched them over to blue buffalo
