many diets are based on raw meats and they need the bones in the diet..

my vet seemed ok with the knuckle bones/soup bones..they last forever and a hit

watch out they do not eat that much at the start......they can gets the scoots....I give it to them for an hour or so and take it up and give it back another time later

raw bones are a HIT here
Your right bones in a RAW diet are a must its what makes there poo firm :-)
I was at the Royal Dick Vet in Edinburgh (they asked to use Angus as a model for a example of a well bred pug for vet training!!) and they were talknig about raw diet. Was very interesting!

Raw marrow bones are a favorite here as well, but will definitely cause fights, so they are a crate only treat. Just as the butcher for marrow bones.

Raw chicken and turkey bones are not dangerous except for the weight bearing bones (leg and thigh). Raw turkey and chicken necks and feet are very popular with my dogs as well.

My favorite chew to give the dogs is deer antlers.

    take care,
    Lisa

raw chicken, including the legs, will not harm and are not too hard for your puggie...

my pug eats thighs, breasts, drumsticks...he is fed an entirely raw diet....

do not expect support from your vet concerning raw unless your vet feeds raw...

but my pug, whom we got in september 2009 needed a dental this summer.....

saturday, my vet said his teeth were magnificent and we cancelled the dental.

he is muscular, brilliantly shiny, his ears are not yeasty and he has no more eye boogers....he eats a variety of proteins...and he gets no veggies and no starches...his teeth are pearly white.

my vet confirmed for me with the examination of my muscle bound boy....that raw was the way to go for him....
