I have 3-month old black puglets. We have been feeding them 1/4 cup homemade dog food (lean ground beef, green beans, peas and brown rice mixture) and 1 T. of Organix kibble THREE (3) times a day. We also give them a teaspoon of non-fat, plain yogurt along with their breakfast (which they LOVE!) and a couple of SMALL treats during the day. We would like to stop feeding the lunchtime meal.
Do you think they are too young to go to 2 times a day?
Also, is it OK to give my puggies raw zucchini? We gave them a few chunks today and they LOVED it!
Hope for some responses soon!
Thank you!
I brought my pug home at 9 weeks old (she is now 8.5 months old), and I switched her to two meals a day from the first time I brought her in. Right now she is only on kibble (im hoping to do a home cooked meal sometime in the near future, just want to do more research). I feed her morning and night, 1/3 cup per meal, which is enough for her. If your feeding the home cooked food, I do believe it is half an ounce of food per pound of body weight. But obviously adjust it if they are losing weight or gaining too quickly.
Three months is old enough, for twice daily feedings, although I usually wait till four months.

Yep I do - once in the morning once at night.
I also feed twice a day...and give treats throughout the day.
I give either a teaspoon of yogurt or baby food before bed.
