    Default Food / treat dispensers

I am not sure if I have put this in the right category but figure someone will find it!! I want to get Stanley a treat dispenser type toy that I can put his lunchtime meal in. This is because I am an Avon lady and my little one is at nursery from 1pm so I have decided that I will be doing my rounds at this time and I figured if I give stanley his lunchtime meal at this point as well it will keep him amused while I am out for an hour. Obviously it is dried food I feed him.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good treat/food dispensing type toys that would work for this? He already has a puppy kong and puppy kong ball but I was looking at something like the dog pyramid or busy buddy twist n treat. Does anyone have experience of these (good or bad)?
    Thanks,
    Kelly

I have a food dispensing ball that you roll around and the food rolls out. the faster they roll the ball the faster the food comes out........
I never feed my pugs when I am not around them though......... the treat ball could get caught somewhere and it would make it hard on the pug to get it out and they could get stuck.
they are great for excersise though but I only do it with supervision.

I would just crate him for the hour when you are out and he will be fine for that hour and likely nap when you are gone.
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........

Suede has the puppy-sized Busy Buddy Twist and Treat. He seems to like it so far. I like it because you can adjust it to the kibble size and the skill level of the dog. For example, when he was just being introduced to it, I made it much easier for him to have success with it and get kibble.

Thanks for the replies :o) I am going to use something to give him his lunch in but BEFORE I go out as I don't like the idea of him choking/not being able to get his food out :o) He probably will just go for a sleep while I am out and when he gets older he will come with me.

I have a treat dispensing ball for Scooby along with a pyramid / cone shaped one which is weighted at the bottom and so he has to knock it over with his paws. He loves both of them and it's good mental stimulation for him too I think :)

    This is the "pyramid" one:

    & the "training treat ball":

What is the premise behind the "training treat ball?" I don't think I've seen anything like it in the states.

PetSmart has them, in the toy aisle, but on the very bottom shelf usually. They are "supposed" to keep the dogs' mind busy, trying to figure out how to turn the ball to get the treats out. In Winston's case however, the frustration of lack of instant gratification led him to bark uncontrollably, setting me off running to turn the ball and give him the treats. Otherwise, I risked the wrath of pug and he'd slam the hard plastic ball into every wall. I think it's really for training us, not them
