Default How Often, and with Stella & Chewy's, How Much?

I've decided to exclusively feed Raisin the frozen Stella & Chewy's patties. Right now she's eating the small patties and I feed 3 times a day. At what point to puppies switch from 3 feedings to 2 per day? I have no problem with continuing to feed her 3 times a day as long as she needs it, I'm just thinking down the line and wondering when this change should happen. I know small dogs are different from big dogs, and Raisin is the first small dog I've had in many, many years.

For anyone with an adult pug that feeds Stella & Chewy's, how much does your pug eat daily? I'm trying to figure out if it makes more sense to continue to buy the small patties or if we should switch to the larger ones down the line.

When I feed it, I feed the small patties because that is all my vendor can get the "Duck, Duck, Goose" flavor in. My dogs get between 1-1/2 and 2 patties twice a day, but they are all old and much less active than a pup. The larger patties are more economical.

Usually you can move to a twice a day feeding schedule between 3-4 months. And you will notice the active growth stops around 7-9 months at which time you will begin to feed a more stable amount. But there is no reason, other than convenience, why you can't feed 3 times a day for the life of the dog.

Stella & Chewys is a wonderful food and a great way to start your pup on a healthy life.

    Take care,

Thanks. I have had a few emails going back and forth with one of the gals at Stella & Chewys, trying to figure out the right amount because what's on the bag and what you get from the website's calculator are nowhere near the same. It told me Raisin would need *nine* small patties of the Duck Duck Goose daily. I was told the calculator on the website is wrong and they're supposed to be working on it, but that was last week and as of yesterday nothing had changed. I was confused because the bags give the same feeding instructions no matter the flavor, but the website calculator gives you different amounts depending on the flavor. Apparently the bag is right, but they jump from 5 to 15 to 25 pounds for the dog size, as well as puppy sizes for percentages, and I've always been good at math but the formula isn't jumping out at me in terms of how they figure it. I mean, I get how they figure it, but it's harder to figure out the proper numbers to use with a puppy that is in between the weights on the chart on the bag. Basically there is no "feed this much per pound of dog." The amount of food lessens as the dog gets bigger, but they aren't really consistent numbers. If that makes any sense.

Raisin is a slender pup and eats a bit more than recommended so I think she will always eat a bit more than the average. I see all these chubby little rolly polly puppies, and that's not Raisin. She's not skinny, she's just not round, if you will. If it's okay to feed 3X a day, we may just stick with it as long as it's possible to do. (And with me at home and I don't see that changing it shouldn't be an issue.)

The place I buy it from has a "buy 9 get one free" thing, so once we've got the free bag of the small patties, we'll switch over to the large.
