If you feed raw, what age did you start your Pug at? I want to raise my puppy on raw, but I don't know if it's ok to start them from 8 weeks, or if they need different things while they are so young?
I'm vegetarian, but I have no qualms about feeding her meat because I think it's best for her, but I would like to keep her on natural products as much as possible. I just want to make sure she's getting everything she needs, and if anyone has found anything specifc that their kids love, or hate.
Thanks :)
Em
Most prepared raw diets are certified for all life stages, including puppies.
As a vegetarian, I'm sure you have concerns that any animals that become part of the food were raised organically and humanely, so I would do some research of brands to see which best fit your requirements. This is a good place to start:

You won't regret giving your pup such a healthy start in life. Don't forget to rotate the protein source regularly to avoid developing allergies to a particular type.

As I'm in Australia and raw food isn't huge, I'd be doing most of it myself, not buying prepared stuff, and it would be free range/hormone free etc
I just need to be sure I'm giving her all she needs and she doesn't miss out on essential nutrients.
That's a little more complicated, but definitely do-able. You want to join one of the online raw-feeding groups to get all the info.
Ziwipeak is in NZ and they have wonderful air dehydrated raw food made with organic, free range meats. I would keep it on hand for back up and for use while traveling.
