Many people have suggested pieces of carrot as a treat for my 12-week old pug...I assumed this meant raw, crunchy carrots but now am wondering if they should be cooked? Does it matter? Or is it just up to the dog! :)
I don't think it matters, just make sure he doesn't get choked on raw pieces, make them small enough to swallow or big enough he has to chew. Most dogs don't chew they just swallow.

KC, the Intrepid Dachshund, will not eat baby carrots. I have to buy him the 'coin' cut carrots ... and only raw. Cooked carrots, unless covered in roast gravy, will be spurned by him and covered up by his cat

Many people feed carrots to their dogs, both raw and cooked (cooked is a little better because it is more digestible), however if your pup begins to show signs of yeast, cut them out as the sweet carbs in carrots are an ideal food for yeast. Signs of yeast include darkened, sticky skin on the belly, chronically dirty and smelly ears, and a smelly face, despite it being cleaned recently.
