Has anyone tried dehydrated lamb lung before? I got some for the pugs for Christmas and boy oh boy do they like them. I tried googling it to see if its good for them and found nothing except companies trying to sell it. Its very low in fat and all natural, nothing in it except lung, which really sounds disgusting.

Never tried it, can't be worse than tripe!
Mine love it and I use it LOTS for training - But some comes with too much grease still on it after the "drying"... I also spend a few evenings with a dedicated pair of scissors snipping each piece into little tidbits (for training ease).. during these evenings my pack is VERY well behaved and attentive, let me tell you!

It is disgusting in the extreme, but a sure hit with any dog lucky enough to find his own lamb lung under the Christmas tree. Nothing wrong with it.
HERE is a recipe to try to make them yourselves..
I dehydrate as many treats as possible for the dogs this way
unless i get them given to me..... cheaper this way and for some reason the dogs love them better too...
I have done beef lungs heart and so on..this way but
perfer chicken or beef for my nose..lol the organ meats are very smelly..LIVER included
living close to a butcher helps with the cost too
•Cut desired meat into thin slices approximately 1/4 inch thick. They can be rectangular or square or triangular—whatever you desire.
•If you do not have a dehydrator, then place the meat in the oven on a) a foil-lined baking sheet, or b) a cookie cooling rack on top of a foil-lined baking sheet, or c) the top slatted portion of a broiler pan with the bottom tray on the rack beneath, or d) the oven racks with a foil-lined pan beneath it to catch drips.
•Set oven on 'warm' or on the lowest setting available (sometimes the pilot light will do). Keep the door cracked open! If the door doesn't stay cracked on its own, use a wooden spoon to prop the door open.
•Let the heat circulate the air to dry the meat pieces. Drying time depends on the meat, the size of the pieces, and the humidity.
•When done, the pieces should be like jerky, but still 'bendy'. Let the pieces cool and then store them in an airtight container in the fridge. Moisture in the container indicates some pieces may have not been done (unless you put warm treats directly into the fridge; moisture condenses on the lid when that happens, too.). Treats can be stored in the fridge for one to three months.
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........
If it's that disgusting, no wonder it's such a hit!

I keep thinking about the poor people with the cats who live directly above you-----they must wonder just what you are doing. ------organ meats are very smelly-----
Phoebe LOVES it! I think it's very healthful for dogs.

I am glad to hear it is safe and will continue giving it to them. Parents have a very picky multi cross something or other and he LOVES it. Of course Eddie and Zoey pretty much eat anything, but when I pull it out there is dancing involved. As for the smell, it is double wrapped and stored in a closet away from anyother food. Peee uuuuuu.

PetsMart used to carry a treat made of lamb lung ... and they were a HUGE hit with my Pack. I'd love to find them again
Cannot imagine it being bad for them in any way
