    Default fish oil

I've been thinking about adding fish oil to Emma's diet. Just a tiny bit every meal. Anyone have experience with this? Any pointers, opinions or concerns?

Wondering too...more for my big guy....but probably would not hurt the babies,

On the advice of a holisitic dog trainer I put Tinker on organic coconut oil, Dogzymes probiotic and Ultimate which has omega 3,6 &9 plus vitamins. It has made a difference in her energy level, her shedding has decreased and her tummy is pinking up.

Hi EmmaDemma, I used to put the stinky stuff in my pugs dry food but stopped once I began cooking them a brown rice-chicken-vegetable diet. So long as you can stomach fish scented pug kisses I'd say go for it! It can't hurt anything. I think however that most of the "higher grade" dry dog foods provide a decent amount. I also feed them each 1/2 can of tuna about once a week.

I give oil to both of mine daily. Unless you overdose, it can't hurt.

We give ours Omega 3 oil with dinner daily. Some dogs need vitamin E supplements to enhance Omega 3 utilization, ours have't. They're coats are sleeker, there's less itching, and there's really no smell.

I'd like to try the fish oil now but seeing as she just got over a tummy ache (no thanks to daddy) I'd like to try and apply directly to her skin for the next week or so and see how that goes. I just hope the cat doesn't start grooming her xD

How much fish oil does everyone use?
I purchased 1000m soft gels and was thinking about putting half or less in each meal (twice daily). Emma weights 16.5. Maybe a little less because she had to fast for 24 after getting sick. But she'll gain all her weight back fast now that she's completely back on her food.

We squeeze the contents of that size pill on each dinner.
