    Default Antler Q

I was perusing my pet edge catalog and noticed there's three types of antlers... Deer, elk,and moose. What's the difference? And do antlers smell when chewed? I hate the smell of ears and hooves, ew lol! Chewbacca is a serious chewer so I'm always looking for new things for him. So far his favorites are actually stuffed toys though!

Mine don't smell when chewed and they're split elk antlers. They chew occasionally on them. Someone here at Pugvillage will pour bacon grease on them (the split side) and bake them at low temp to make them more interesting. I forgot who. I don't know if there is any difference between deer, elk, or moose.

I don't know how much of a difference there is between them but Henry adores his deer antlers. They last forever with no mess and no smell so I'm a big fan too.

We have elk antlers, and no, they don't smell. Your best bet (unless you have a very aggressive chewer) is to buy split antlers, so they can easily get to the marrow.

Here's a site that other PV folks recommended. I bought the medium split.
