Treats

Super picky Mz Tilly has just gone ga-ga over her freeze dried duck with orange...aka duck puck. Also the same brand of roasted duck chips. Ever since getting these I swear she lives just to get more. In the evenings any move like it might result in a trip to the kitchen results in excted dash to the kitchen and playful pugtona to entice the release of a duck puck into her mouth. It's like those beggin strip commercials....duck duck duck duck instead of bacon bacon bacon bacon

My question is this: I had never heard of HerbSmith, much less freeze dried duck and oven roasted duck. anyone have experience with them? Are they laced with some sort of doggie cocaine? In 8 years she has never reacted this way to a food or treat. She's been getting them for 6-8 weeks now and no ill effects, but some of herbsmith's products are herbal and imported chinese herbs which makes me a little leary. These are not supposed to have herbs but I do wonder about the orange component.

Thoughts? am I seeing ghosts of tainted herbs because of her unxpected love of the treats?

Jackie - I thought of you the other day (sorry if that sounds weird haha) - but the pet food store accross the street from my house carries Stella&Chewey's now...I was trying to remember which treats you were telling me about - so glad you posted on this thread! :)

If there is anything in the treats from China or if the treats are made in China I'm afraid I would have to make Mz Tilly give them up. I would never give my animals any food product made in China. There are just to many instances where the stuff is tainted and poison.

Yeah, I ordered duck jerky by Dogswell but it was made in China. Of course when you're ordering you can't read the labels so I threw it out. If I try anything else I'm going to call and order and ask where's it's made.

THe Herbsmith is supposed to contain only usa ducks. Wonder how they keep the Canadian ducks out? ;)
Yesterday Miss Precious, my sis's peke, learned the joy of the roasted duck treats. She was very dubious but finally tried and was hooked. She kept asking for more LOL
