I am currently feeding Bentley Blue Buffalo puppy food and it's that time to make the transition to adult food. I've tried twice in the past by feeding him Blue Buffalo adult and both times have ended in him being sick and vomiting. I've attempted to followed the 14 day transition steps by feeding a very small amount of adult mixed in with the puppy food but it really has not worked. Any suggestions? maybe use a different brand? and if so what other brand could I use. Like I said before I've been using Buffalo this whole time because I felt as it was a good brand but is it really a better brand of food?
I dont have any suggestions, as I feed mine Blue Buffalo. She is getting ready to eat her last bag of puppy. I hope she doesnt have the same problem as yours is. Im actually thinking about switching myself, as the past few days she doesnt seem to want to eat her Blue Buffalo. She is still eating but doesnt seem as if she wants to. Maybe she doesnt like it.
Just wanted to wish you luck on a new food choice.
Sometimes certain foods can be too rich for their tummies. Do you have a PetCo near you? You could try Wellness-they have a bunch of different varieties-you may want to try one of their "Simple Solutions" that doesn't have many ingredients.

My Pug Grover is 3 years old…
I have been feeding him Eagle Pack Holistic Select* ever since he was a puppy. I changed from the puppy formula to the adult formula when he was 12 months old…and I have never had any problems. In fact, Pug breeders, and other Pug owners, often comment on what a clear, healthy coat he has.
I have always added vegetables to his dry food…I lightly steam them, and then process them with a hand-held blender. He also has a chicken wing every night, a lamb shank once a week (instead of the chicken wing), and a lean lamb leg bone every day.
Eagle Pack also have a product called Holistic Solution, a pro-biotic powder, like acidophillus, which helps puppies convert to adult food, or to Eagle Pack from another brand, or from a cooked diet. Here is a link to the Eagle Pack website (you will need to scroll down to the Holistic Solution):

Another thing that you could add to your Pug’s dry food is Slippery Elm powder, which is a natural, herbal product that helps with digestive problems.
Best of luck with your Puggy!

is it possible that the transition needs to be slower? since he's tolerating the puppy food so well, maybe add a little of the adult food and take a few months to complete the transition.
that's what we do with our dogs, whether it's a brand change or age change and it seems to work....

I feed Clyde Call of the Wild which is a primarily Salmon based food because we found out that as he got older, he was allergic to all kinds of poultry. His coat is softer and shiner for it and he tolerates the food well. I also used that Dog food analysis site to find a good food for him.
