I want to start making the Pugs homemade/healthy treats
Is there any recipe that you make your pugs over and over that they really love?

These are very smelly. Pugs love them. I'm very popular in my neighborhood, a big dog-walking area. I usually make more dog- than people-Christmas cookies!
TROUT COOKIES
I bet you could use canned tuna or salmon.
2 Cups Wheat Flour
1 Cup Cornmeal
Pinch of salt
3 Tablespoons Vegetable oil
1 Cup water
1 Cup Trout
1 small clove of garlic
I mixed everything in the food processor and mixed till doughy consistency.
Shape into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet. I flattened the balls down with a fork.
400 degrees for 15 minutes.
BOW-WOW-NIES
Ingredients:
1 lb Chicken livers
1 cup flour
1 cup corn meal (I just use Jiffy corn muffin mix)
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 egg
Directions
Place Chicken livers and liquid in blender, liquefy.
Add egg, mix a minute more. Pour into bowl.
Add flour, corn meal and garlic powder.
Mix. Spray jelly roll pan with pam.
Pour mixture into pan.
Bake 15 minutes in 400 degree hot oven.
Cut into small squares while still warm.
Keep in freezer to prevent spoilage.
There are also a lot on the Internet. Look under 'dog cookie recipes.'

This one is super simple & a favorite in our house
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup skim milk
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk. Add wet mixture to dry, and mix well.
Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack and store in an airtight container.
Makes about 20-30 dog biscuits (depending on size of cookie cutter)

Wonka and Nilla can attest to the devine deliciousness of Trout Cookies! They sampled some in Chicago and thought they were heavenly.
I'd like to try to make the Bow-Wow-nies but we've got Nilla on a no-corn diet right now and I wonder if there is a substitute for the cornmeal?

Thanks for the fantastic homemade recipes - I'm sure Yoda will LOVE them !!! Excuse me for sounding ignorant...but how do you know what your puggy can and can't eat? Just so that I can check this out for Yoda.
Hehe Thanks!

Buster would have an allergic reaction anytime that he ate something with corn it. He would get itchy, have ear infections, & his nose roll would get "puffy". We had to figure it out by process of elimination but corn is a very common allergen for dogs so it wasn't hard to determine.
