These Pur Luvs were good treats - low fat, omega fatty acids, calcium and phosphorus for teeth and bones. They were called "Sniffers" then were replaced by these "Pur Luvs", but they were basically the same thing. Everywhere I look, you can't buy them (for the long term) or they only have a few left. I'm saving the small handful I have left for this holiday weekend.

They were soft, but not soft enough to fall apart when I stuffed them in her JW Pet Hol-EE Football Dog Toy at PETCO
Does anyone know of a good soft and healthy treat I can replace these with? I already have crunchy cookies, but I don't have anything semi-soft.

Hello,

I am relatively new to Pug Village, I poke around all the time but this is my first post. We are moving to Germany in July (Army) and have to get our two pugs (Paris France & Zsa Zsa Gabor) there. I have reservations for them to fly in cabin with us. We will be flying military on Patriot Express trough BWI. My concern is the pugs really only fit in the large Sherpa bag. I have ordered in the medium Sherpa and Large SturdiBag and they are very cramped and uncomfortable, too cramped for an 8 hour flight. Has anyone had success with the large Sherpa bag, it is a couple inches larger than the allowed dimensions, but it will squish.

What is the best way to go unnoticed with the dogs? Should I have them out at the checkin counter so no one notices the bag is a couple inches too big? Should I really not even be worrying about this?

Any tips are greatly appreciated. I really need my babies to make this flight. If not I'm not sure how I am going to get them to Germany. I do not want them to fly cargo.

Thanks in advance for all of your help. I know someone out there in the village has some tips for me :)

Our Vet called tonight with Nilla's path results:

Low grade Mast Cell Tumor
Clean Margins

We'll get a full copy of the results when we go in for Nilla's suture removal next Tuesday, but this is about the best news we could hope for and prognosis is good. :happy dance:

The Vet said if we wanted to we could get a prognosticator panel (I think that's what she called it) and that would show risk of metastasizing or mutation and other information. She did not suggest it as it's expensive and she felt the best option right now was to just watch closely for new lumps, but she said it's an option if we really wanted to test further. I'm thinking not, but I'm curious if anyone here has had this extra testing done? Vet said it would be required if Nilla was going to have chemo, but she considers it optional (and too expensive to consider) at this point and with this diagnosis.

today been in and out all day it seems. doing this and that. took in Pru today for some therapy work and came home and then decided to take out a dear senior friend of mine to LUNCH. came HOME and that is when all @@@@@ broke loose.....
first of all crated the pugs and left the bulldogs out.....do that on occasion and knew Pru was tired from therapy......
I come in the door and she does NOT come to see me.........she NEVER MISSES one time ever without doing that. Gus was there.
I look around and see her laying in her CRATE on her side...........no movement at all. called her and NOTHING. got closer and noticed her eyes wide OPEN and she was laying there. I thought she died when I was out......
I do not think anyone could move as fast as me to get her out of the crate......lol
she just LOOKED at me and gave me a KSS and wiggled her little butt as fast as possible.......
Guess she was day dreaming of Max her favourite new found friend........ ONLY explanation I got......lol

My heart did litterally stop though.....

Zeus one time I came home and he was out of the crate and sleeping on the couch when I left. when I came home everyone came racing to see me by Zeus. he did move a muscle and could not see him breathing. PICKED HIM up and gave him a bit of a shake in a panic and all he did was give me STINK EYE......

oh well glad everyone is fine............
even if the DOGS don't get me...lol I know most of you will............
worried MOM big time.....

Woo hoo! It’s time for a road trip! To a dog, every time she takes a trip in the car, it’s an adventure. Even though it’s super fun for your pooch, there are precautions to take when you pull out of the driveway. Let’s go over a few mistakes you may be making when it comes to dog car safety. Take notes – there will be a quiz later!

1. You let your dog roam the car freely. You never buckle up your pup. He goes from the back seat, to your lap, over to the passenger seat to look at what’s going on outside. Not only is this a huge distraction, but what happens when you have to hit the brakes unexpectedly? Your dog can be hurt or can hurt someone else in the car. According to Barkbuckleup.com, a 60-lb dog traveling at 35 mph can turn into a 2,700 pound projectile during an accident. There are lots of products on the market that can help keep your dog safe, such as a pet barrier, a secured cage, harnesses and restraints, seatbelt attachments and booster seats.

2. You leave your dog in the car while you run errands. No matter what the season, it’s never a good idea to leave a dog unattended in a vehicle. It leaves her vulnerable to thieves and there’s a chance she becomes anxious and starts tearing apart your sweet ride. Or, she escapes on her own and wanders off (remember the IKEA monkey?) And, of course, there’s heat stroke. You hear about tragic cases of dogs that have died as a result of being left in a car during a hot summer day. Even if you open the window a bit, that’s still not enough to keep your car cool. In a matter of minutes, the temperature in a car can rise 20 degrees. So the next time you run to the store, leave your dog at home.
