E-mail notifications... You can turn it off if you want.

We're gonna try this and see how it works. I turned on automatic e-mail notifications for the Village.

Some people would like to be notified via e-mail when someone has replied to a thread they participated in.

Some people do not want to get the emails (mostly the active people).

If you want to stop e-mail notifications, turning it off is easy.

1. Go to User CP towards the top left side of the Forum pages.
2. Go to Edit Options (4th menu item from the top on the left side)
3. In the middle under Messaging & Notification, there is a dropdown box called Default Thread Subscription Mode. Change it to [ No e-mail notification ] as shown in the image below
4. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the screen

I don't see the User CP anywhere !

This thread is old and there have been software upgrades since then. Near the top of your screen, there is a green tool box, click on the link the says (FORUM ACTIONS) a menu will drop down and then click on (GENERAL SETTINGS) Scroll down until you see the setting you want to change.
