Hi everyone I hope i'm posted this in the right section. I'm new here and so is Hermione my black female pug. she is 8 weeks right now and such a joy!! I have a daughter and she just loves her.
My mom told me about pugvillage not long ago she joined ( melmel) She wrote about my lavender and her sad story. My mom is very strong and helped me get threw this.
So now i'm very excited to be here i've looked all over and i'm so happy to be here and talk about my pug. If you didn't read my moms recent post we apoted to black pug puppies brother and sister. We named them Hermione and Harry!! Yes I'm a harry potter lover sorry lol
I can't wait to read all the things we have in common. I live in texas so it's very hott here for our pugs right now so i can't wait until fall were we can do more then take them out to potty lol.
I also have a few questions if any of you dont mind answering . How old does my Hermione have to be to get fixed? I've heard as young as 3 and as old as 6 months. Also, how old should I start trying to get her use to a leash? I take her out and i have to keep such a close eye on her because she will wonder off lol.
Well again thank you everyone on her. I'm so honored to have found such a wonderful place to come brag about my new little girl.
Welcome to the village!! So sorry to hear about Lavender and happy you found PV. I cant wait to hear more about Hermione. I have one black pug named Otto, his my first and only pug. I got him at 8 weeks old and he just turned 2 in July.
Welcome to the village....we all love to brag about our puggie friends...it is what we do cause they are just so cute and crazy! lolAs for getting fixed...I have heard both 3 and 6 months..I think it depends on the vet. As for the leash....start right away as the sooner she gets used to it the better. Yes pugs can wander off as they are just so curious about everything and and don't really understand about danger...at least my Puggers dosn't it seems!
Welcome to the village Marilyn, Hermione and Harry.
Sorry to hear about Lavender.
You should have Hermione spayed at around 6 months before her first season. You could also have Harry neutered at the same time so he doesn't try wandering off if he smells a bitch in heat in your area. It would also lessen his chance of getting testicular cancer and he is less likely to urine mark in your house and others as he matures and stops squatting and starts to lift his leg. He is also less likely to try to hump Hermione, toys and your leg too, if he is neutered at a young age.
Leash training should start immediately, you can do it in the house if it's too hot to go outside. You can also put a harness and leash on for a potty break on your own property so they get used to "leash" means we're going outside.
Good to have you aboard!!

From Chicago! Where were you last week? I could really have used a Hermione; remember the spell she used to fix Harry's glasses--'Reparis ocularis'? I broke my glasses in half last week. I bet this one's cuter, though. We'd love to watch her grow up.

Sorry, got it wrong: Oculus Reparo.

Hi
Welcome to the Village!!!
I'm so sorry about Lavender.......and pleased you have a new pup!!!!
Follow Rosie Pugs advice...it's good!
Welcome to you and your Hermione and Harry!
As soon as I got my Lola at 8 weeks, I started using a harness and leash to take her out for bathroom breaks.
And at 6 months she was spayed.
