Nom! Big kisses on that sleeping tummy, she's a gorgeous lil thing! And I know exactly what you mean about simultaneously being gorgeous and a terror, my 13 week old lil black girl can drive me to distraction then make me melt in a little puddle

So far today she's in angel mode, took this pic 2 seconds ago:

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Her bed is sat next to my desk so I can keep a close eye on her ;) Sadly desk never stays tidy enough to put her bed on it more than once a month as in the avatar pic ;)

Have to say she's settling in really well, we brought her home a week yesterday and toilet training wise she doesn't make accidents as long as we spot that she's ready to go (or just realise she's about due) then we either carry her to our bathroom or call her to it and she has a little mat she "eliminates" on, she's so smart though she always saves a drop or two in the tank so that even if she's not really ready when I call her for "wee wee time Petal" she can squeeze a little out because she knows she'll get a treat for doing it in the right place!

Sleeping wise she's also doing fantastic, she sleeps in her carrying crate (it's one of those semi rigid holdall type ones)in our bedroom, she generally goes to sleep around 10-11pm which is when the wife and I go to snuggle and watch some TV in bed I usually stay up later than the wife who has to get up early for work so I carry on watching football or such until around 2-3am and a couple of times I'll hear Petal wake up (she doesn't cry just moves around) so as I generally need to go "potty" a couple of times before sleep as well (too much diet coke I tell ya!) I take her with me and usually she'll have another little wee and then when I put her back in her crate she settles right back down again with no fuss or anything, then in the morning the wife gets up about 6-7am, Petal wakes up in her crate but doesn't make any noise other than moving around a little and maybe chewing on her teddy then goes back to sleep, then she'll wake up again around 8-8:30 and her moving around will wake me up so I'll then get up to start the day :)

One question I have regarding toilet training, if we catch her before she goes or simply take her when she's due as mentioned above she doesn't have accidents anywhere, of course if I miss the signs (eg I was out of the room briefly filling water bottles yesterday morning so she No2'd on the office floor) she'll go in the room she's in, I wondered what the next step is in the evolution of her training and will it come naturally or do I somehow have to encourage it? I'm thinking along the lines of her telling me by barking or scratching at the door when she needs to go, will this naturally evolve as she grows and gets greater control of her bladder and more familiarity of where she's supposed to go to the toilet? Obviously she's just a tiny thing so I'm not in any hurry or need to rush her just curious :)

Please tell me that Petal doesn't always sleep in an elevated, fall out and hurt herself, bed. She is very pretty, but puppies don't fall, they thud.

    Welcome to the Village!

Usually, a dog will eventually go to the door and tell you! Not all pugs do!!!

I'm hoping my new 6 mo old pup will pick it up!

I'd be concerned about her sleeping on top of your desk. Pups move so dang fast....and a fall from there could cause major harm! It's not worth the risk! Desk sleeping to me is for the old dogs that don't move much once they're in their spot!
