steamed carrots are a good addition to add fiber, maybe even some brown rice
is Sadie on glucosamine or some kind of joint supplement?
maybe substitute one meal with green beans mixed with cottage cheese

No; I'm the lucky one...to have been blessed with Sadie, these 15+ years. Sadie is such a big part of my life...When I walk in my front door, I always look for Sadie...I honestly do not know how it'll be when Sadie no longer is here to greet me! The thought terrifies me, quite frankly...Dogs are such blessings from God: and I know God blessed us human beings with these animals, for comfort, and love...God did not design them to live a long time: so I just have to find a way to accept that...and be grateful for the happy years I had with Sadie..If what I say sounds odd, it's just that I am trying now to adjust to the realization that Sadie could die at any time...I hope she hangs on for another year or so! I just feel the need to prepare: but no matter what; all the preparation in the world won't lessen the loss, when she does die..I have been looking into cremation for her, when she does pass on...

You must have cared for Sadie very well over the years for her to live such a long life. I think you should be very proud of yourself for taking such good care of her. I do understand how painful it must be to imagine life without her. My dogs are both young, but it breaks my heart to even think of them dying one day.

You've had some great feeding tips. I always recommend feeding raw to anybody who asks. I just think it's superior for all dogs. Mine certainly thrive on it.

I do give Sadie a Glucosamine/Chontroitin/MSN pill a day: well, I cut it in half...The Iams I have been feeding her also says it has Glucosamine/Chondroitin in it, also....I also give Sadie 25 mg. of Carodyl a day..I split the pill in half, and give it to her twice a day...Sadie's Veterinarian told me she has never seen a Pug live as long as Sadie: oh my!
