Talking First time pug mom and loving it

    Hi everyone,

I am a new pug mom and am loving every moment of it. I am loving it so much that I want another pug.
I got my Maggie on Nov 26, 2011 and she is 4 months old. I am wanting to get another pug puppy and am wondering if it would be better to get a girl or a boy or does it matter?
I will appreciate any advice on this as quickly as possible cause I am going Sunday to look at 5 potential new pug babies :)

Hello & to the village! You've definitely been pugged! I don't know if it makes a difference which sex you get but if your girl is the alpha you want a submissive second pug. Look forward to getting to know you and seeing pics!

Welcome to the village. Congrats on becoming a new pug mommy. My experience is best to have a male and female.
If you are sure you are ready to potty train 2 babys then best of luck to you and good luck on your decision. Looking forward to seeing pics.

There are no hard and fast rules but boys are usually more laid back. Girls are known to clash more often. I'd consider completing the training of my first furkid before getting another, two could be overwhelming. BTW, welcome to the Village.

Hello and to PugVillage. Glad you have joined us and look forward to seeing pixs of Maggie. You have definitely been Pugged. I started out with 1 and now have 4 Pugs. I do find the boys are more easy-going. My female, Lu Ci, is the boss for sure.

Thanks everyone for the great welcome! I was lucky when I got Maggie, she was already pee pad trained. I am under no delusions that adding a second pup right now is going to be easy, but my husband and I really don't want to wait. We have always had animals, but Mags is different. There is just something extra special about these little dogs. Of course all of you already know that lol.
As soon as I figure out how to add pics of Maggie I will. I have tons!
    Thanks again everyone!
