Hello all. I'm new to this forum and am excited to talk about and learn more about my pug, and pugs in general. Julian is my first pug. He's about 9 months old we think. He was taken to the vet for a neuter back in the late summer, and never picked back up. My vet knew we'd been interested in pugs for a while, and called me personally to see if we'd be interested in meeting him. Of course, we were! The previous owners had complained about him soiling on the beds in their home, but we only had that happen a few times. He is a particularly naughty little dog, however, and I can see how he might have overwhelmed the average new dog owner! We're very dog experienced, and he's still a handful. We don't really know why he was left behind, but I'm so glad he's here with us that it doesn't really matter anyway. He's very cuddly and affectionate, very very sweet, and very sorry when he gets into trouble.... although he seems to forget and do the same thing again in like 2 minutes. We absolutely adore this little curly tailed creature. He might be the cutest thing I've ever seen.
We also have a golden retriever that is a therapy dog, and a little french bull/ boston mix that will be starting agility in a few weeks. 4 cats too. Toddler, 2.5 years old, who is great with the animals.
I'm not sure how to post pics here. Still learning my way around. Can anyone help me with that?
Thanks so much, and I look forward to getting to know you all and your pugs a bit more.
Welcome! I'm a newbie too. I have two pugs and they are the loves of my life (next to hubby of course, ahem).
To post pictures, you have to first upload them unto a hosting service, such as photobucket. com. Then paste the IMG code into your message and voila! Can't wait to see a pic of your little bundle of love and mischief :)

Hello and welcome! It sounds like you have quite the busy family! I'm so glad that you took in the little pug, and gave him a loving home. Looking forward to seeing pictures :)
Nano is: 9 months and 27 lbs :)
good thing you were there to rescue him. So sad that someone can just drop their animals off. it is their own fault he soiled the bed because they didn't teach him otherwise.
I have 4 cats too. Are yours declawed? None of ours are. we haven't had any issues so far. Our cat Max (we raised him as a kitten and he s only about 7 mos old) likes to paw him. Prim will run at him biting and ready to play and Max will just swipe her in the head with no claws. Ha. Smart little things they are.
Only one of my cats is declawed, and that is only because she was rescued that way. My other 3 are fully clawed because I personally disagree with declawing. I have one that has swatted at Jules. He's diabetic and when his sugar fluctuates, he gets very cranky towards the younger, more boisterous dogs. However, I trim all claws regularly, so they are blunt and not terribly dangerous. Still, I am careful to intervene if my cat seems to be getting stressed by the puppy-play! Jules is pretty good about ducking assaults, and I don't know how aggressive my cat really is. He makes a lot of noise, and rushes at Jules, but I don't know if he really even puts his claws out!
Thanks for the warm welcome. I am very excited to be in such puglovin' company!
I'm glad our vet thought to call us to rescue him too. I'm sure a lot of people would have liked to adopt him. He's a perfect fit for our family, and sits on my toddler's lap in her car seat when we go out together. It just was a match made in heaven. We're grateful to have him and feel like WE were the lucky ones, not him. The people who left him never even called to find out what happened to him, according to our vet. They never even looked back. But we're so glad to have him, and he seems delighted to be with us.
Let me try to upload pics....
In his sweatshirt, looking horrified for some reason! lol.

Cute little boxy flat face!
Sorry if I'm bragging on him too much, he's just such a joy and challenge, and we love him! People generally don't want to hear me go on about my dogs, so I'm hoping I'll be understood here.... thanks for listening!

Oh, don't worry we totally understand about going on and on about our Pugs. Julian is a cutie and sounds like he is fitting in so well with everyone. Feel free to post lots of pixs and tell us all about his Puggie antics.

Oh, thank you all for being so nice and welcoming. I have plenty of naughty pug stories to share already! My 2 year old regularly says "aye, no-no" whenever he takes her stuff. Don't know where she got that phrase from but it's pretty funny.
Pugs are so good with little kids!
