Default Hello Everyone, meet Moani and I

Hello everyone I'm new to PV! I'm a proud, devoted and loving momma to my 4 year old girl pug named Moani (mo-ah-nee). The reason behind me opening an account with PV is because my Moani has been sick for a little over 2 years now. I have been looking for answers as to why she was always itching, why she smells so bad (even after I shower her, almost like a sweaty stinky feet smell), why she has almost elephant like skin (all on her neck, paws, lower back and tail and up until recently the back of her neck), why she isn't gaining weight and the list goes on and on. She had been on every medication you can think of, none of them worked. Besides the meds not working, visiting the vet on a weekly basis and money going down the drain they finally gave me an answer, she was dealing with severe allergies due to palm trees (I live in California, theres palm tress everywhere), sagebrush and fleas. This has been a frustrating and very disappointing journey with my Moani. the good thing is that she just started this new treatment with this drug named Atopica (hoping that this works)

So to make this long story short I opened this account to get a little support with other pug owners and to share, help and get answers to many little things only us pug owners will understand. I hope I can get some answers and also answer questions to many others that might be dealing with something similar.

Your new friends Moani and I. :)

Welcome to the Village. I live in Wyoming so don't have any experience with Palm Tree allergies but sending out good wishes this new medication fixes the problem for your baby. Looking forward to a good report. Keep us posted.

I live just north of you in Sun City (Riverside County) maybe we can meet up in Fallbrook and I can take a look at Moani. It sounds very much like a stubborn yeast infection. Nzymes have done well for many dogs.

I can't stress enough that even though she has environmental allergies, giving her a food that helps boost her immune system and normalize her allergic response will help.

My email is [email protected] and I volunteer for Pug Rescue of San Diego.

    Take care,

Thank you all for your warm welcoming! @6 Beautiful Pugs yes, I would love to meet up in the foreseeable future to get your opinion on her if these meds don't work for her. I'm very interested in what you said about NZYMES I will do my research about them today thank you.

Welcome and yes do follow up with Lisa. I think she is one of the most knowledgable people on this forum when it comes to allergies, immune systems, seniors and well almost everything pug related. Best of luck to your girl and looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing stories about your little girl.
