    Post My Pug's health issue

Hi everyone. I am really glad I found this site. I have two Pugs, my Indy is 12 years old and my Michele will be 4 years old November 4th.

I want to know if someone can help me. Indy just started a few days ago drinking a lot of water and having to go out every 4 hours to pee. This has never happened and I am a little concerned about it. He has always barked to go out doors and during this time spand he has had 3 inside accidents because we could not get to the door to let him out. I am in Florida and we never leave him out long because of the extremely hot weather. However, this has got me worried and since my vet is on vacation, I wondered if anyone has any ideas about what is going on.

    Thanks so much,

    Indypug

i would have him in for a good check up, it definitely could be a urinary tract infection. they can do bloodwork and a urinalysis possibly x-rays if they think he might have stones.

Please don't leave him out in the heat, go to your local pet store and get a "belly band" and line it with a human incontinence pad or sanitary pad. that should protect your floor while you are gone.

    Take care,

I'd worry a bit about diabetes if he's started to drink a lot of water. Could just be a UTI...I'd get him in ASAP. There has to be another vet taking over...or one close to you.

I want to thank everyone for answering my post so quickly. I am going to take him to the vet as soon as possible. One good thing is that his issue has subsided but nevertheless he is going to the vet.
It is so nice to have fellow pug lovers be able to give solid advice. I am so glad I have discovered this site.
