Congratulations on your new pug, and so sad they had to give her up for the impending baby. I think you got the better end of the deal.

Pugs are always such friendly little dogs and so eager to please, but I think you should be prepared for a bit of a trial in house-training. You will need patience, persistence, consistency and perseverance and sometimes it might seem like you'll never succeed, but you will and it will be sooooooooooooooo worth it. We're here for any advice. Oh, and absolutely no question that you should have her spayed as soon as possible. Good luck!
