Just so you know, in the state of California it is against the law to sell a puppy under the age of 8 weeks. It is actually a misdemeanor, meaning it is criminal, not a civil matter.
Six weeks is much too young to be away from the mama...please be VERY careful with her as she likely did not get the necessary immunities from her Mama and she also is not learning very basic things from her siblings. You might want to let your breeder know that what she is doing is not only very bad for the puppies, but illegal as well. I'd also put in a call to the District Attorney's office to let them know what the breeder is doing too so that it protects future puppies from being taken away too early.

Thanks for the info. I did NOT know that. Many people probably do not becuase papers and websites list many puppies under 8 weeks. I can see the reasoning though why 8 weeks is best. Right now I mainly am concerned with learning from this forum on the care of my pugs. For the little one especially due to her size but, also my sweet baby boy Pugsly that may look big compared to her but actually just a 9 week old baby too. I will follow all my vets instructions but will continue to read everything I can and interact with other pug pet owners to gain valued advice on caring for my lil ones.

Your babies are very cute. You are right to be vigilant with Wednesday especially as 8 weeks is really the mimimum age at which they should leave their mothers. 8 weeks is the norm in the UK but I know that in the USA the better breeders keep pups back until at least 10 weeks as a matter of course.

I see you have a cat. Cat claws can inflict serious injuries on pugs, especially their eyes, so please be very watchful when the cat is around until you are sure the pups are not upsetting the cat. Pugs and cats can get on perfectly well, but when introducing any new pets to each other you do need to be careful, as I am sure you are being.

Thank you for the advise. I appreciate it. We have actually seperated Wednesday yesterday from the other animals until she has her vet visit this week. She seems good and eating well but so little does sleep allot. I know that socialization is important. I have been reading and reading but, since she is just so small I debated but I just feel a bit better aiting for the next few days until I ask the vet and get her exam to see what he says. Kinda feel darned if I do and darned if I don't from reading post. I am really thankful for this forum though because it really does help to read other peoples post and listen to other pug owners. Although what some people write kinda scares me and second guess myself. Trying to be a good person and help an animal and make it part of my family. I didn't realize the 8 week rule but I have Wedneday now, and love her, so only place to go is forward and concentrate on the care of her. I know several people have advised that where I got her was bad and she was too young and now I clearly get that but again can't go back only forward. For Karma reasons I am not turning anyone in at Christmas. Just want to do the best I can and see how everything goes and hopefully make some fellow pug owner friends along the way. Any advise you can give is greatly appreciated.

You are right to keep her from other animals who are not fully innoculated. Also make sure not to let her set her little feet any place other than your home until she gets most of her shots. No parks, pet stores, walks along the sidewalk and don't let her feet touch the floor at the vet's office. Parvo can easily be transmitted from the ground and can be fatal.

I understand not wanting to turn someone in during the holiday season, but please put the breeder on notice of the law. These poor animals cannot speak for themselves and need us to protect them. Think of it as protecting future puppies.
