I am new pug owner and falling quickly in love with my little puppies. I have a boy, Pugsley DOB 10-10-09 and a very small girl, Wednesday DOB 10-30-09. We just got Wednesday on Friday night. I think she very well may turn out to be extremely small. I am interested to see what members think her color is. She almost seems to be brown. I am not sure what to call her color. Even though she is small she seems very healthy but we are treating her with very special care just because of her size. I am wondering if she will lighten up. I will try to post pictures.

aw bless them! Your pup was nearly born on the same day as mine! He was the the 12th october. Your little girl pup looks very small! Is she only 6 weeks old? x
Very cute puppies you have!!
I would say that your little girl may lighten up or may not. Could she be considered a brindle?

Hi and welcome! Your pups are very cute but 6 weeks old is way to young to leave mum and siblings! Her colour is just the darker coat of a very young pup that will get lighter as she grows.
Take extra special care of that tiny little mite. No responsible, ethical breeder would let one go so young and judging by her size I wonder if she isn't even younger. One tiny puppy is HARD WORK and two is gonna test you to the limits!
No matter, they are in your care now and sometimes leaving an irresponsible environment can give them a better chance at life. I am sure you are going to take great care of them both!

Thanks for the responses. She is only six weeks old. She had 5 brothers that were actually very big. At 6 weeks they seemed to be the size of my Pugsly 20 days older. My vet advised to bring her in when she is 7 weeks. So in the mean time we are definately babying her. She definately is young. Pugsly was 6 1/2 weeks when we got him but weighed 2.8 pounds and was/is full of personality from day one. Very wiggly. She runs and jumps but sleeps allot still and we watch them very close together at this point because of her size. I am going to try and borrow a kitchen scale to weigh her today. I will continue to post her growth and take very special care of her....my little boy too ofcourse which seems to be growing like a weed.
Welcome to the village
Very cute puppies. You have a lot of courage taking on two babies.... I'm speechless, mine's 10 months old and still running rings around me and trying to kill my pant leg!!

I know. My little boy loves the pants leg too. He seems to be very smart though becuase the expression on his face tends to make me believe he gets it when I say no. He is learning. Normally I think it would wear my patience but I just love him so much makes it easier. I really was going to wait to get the second one but my eleven year old daughter got the best of me. Also, the little girl was so small that I knew she needed a good home. I am not really planning on breeding mine and she may be way too small to ever breed. It may not be good for her but I definately knew we could watch her closely and take that special care that small babies need so it seemed like the right decision - I kept thinking if I do not buy her than someone else will maybe just because she is so tiny and not realize that lil ones need extra care. I just pictured some lady carrying her out doors in a pink doggie purse before she had time to grow and get shots and be any where near ready to be outside out in the world.
Well thank you for rescuing her from that possible fate!
She will possibly always be undersized but her coat will certainly lighten -though I doubt she will ever be the clear light apricot of your male. If you get a chance, do a bit of research on puppy socialization ages so that you can help her to learn those things that the older nesting puppies learn from their littermates.
I definately will google that and brush up on it. I actually was a little scared this afternoon because my daughter told me she drooled. I am not sure what drooled meant. She was asleep so I didn't want to wake her. I am sure she is 6 weeks because we saw her large brothers when we got her but she definately is sooo sooo small that is a bit scary. When she woke up seemed fine....playing with a toy monkey, running a bit, eating well. We decided that for awhile we will keep the puppies apart since she is just so little. I want to be very cautious.
