Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone. I am excited to be here, and to be searching for a puppy again. Granted, it will be perhaps another year before we do bring one home, but I don't want to rush things (easier said than done, of course!).

ayleash - I absolutely agree with you. Any breeder that pushes Christmas puppies on people/families isn't one I'm going to be looking into. Plus, Christmas and just the holidays in general won't be a good time for a new dog, especially because the holidays is a big deal and very busy time of the year.

The breeders I am considering all title their breeding stock and actively show their Pugs and provide contracts and guarantees - one of them even competes in agility with their pugs!

My mother actually lived and went to college in TN for a while before moving to Oregon! I've yet to go there myself, but the weather must be quite different.

    Welcome!

Hope you find the right one and please start off topics on random questions you have that owners are best on answering.

It seems odd, yet its a very good mix to have a pug and shepherd. A few people here have that. Also since Trent is younger, it will be nice to get another puppy for him to grow with. Hats off to you though- 2 youngins always seem to get into mischief!

Thank you - I promise, I am always full of questions, so I may be bombarding everyone soon with them ;)

There is not a dog out there that Trent doesn't love. He's very much a puppy himself, but he's well behaved around the house and starting to become very good with younger and/or smaller dogs. I never did think I'd go from a German shepherd to looking for a pug for the family - but that only teaches me to "never say never"!
