hi, my name is... hi, my name is bugsey malone and i am a 9 and 1/2 years young, fun-loving pug ham.
last week my parents and i had a major medical scare as i couldn't pee very well. after a third opinion, there appeared no way around the fact that i needed surgical intervention because my urinary tract was obstructed. my family and friends were worried sick about me. i went under the knife on friday... here's a photo my dad shot with his iphone before the vet took me
among other things, the vet passed a catheter out my urethra to remove a stone that block it, which constricted my urine flow. the vet also removed a few stones from my bladder. my mommy and dad visited me on saturday afternoon and although i was still a bit sensitive and very sleepy as should be expected, i was recovering nicely.
i didn't much like the iv in my leg.
trying to stay awake for the parents -- the pain meds didn't help, but took the pain edge off.
all seemed to go very, very well and as the vet said not one bump in the road, so since monday evening i've been recuperating in the comfort of my home.
