Yoda's Overdose :

My forum friends....I don't ask for much, but I need to beg you to please PLEASE pray your hearts out for Yoda.

When we were out for a quick dinner last night our baby boy grabbed his daddy's work bag off the dining room table, onto the floor, proceeded to open it and find and eat the one dangerous thing in there - Clarinase antihistamine. Most human antihistamines are safe if a dog ingests a few, except this one !!

We had the worst night possible, got home at 11ish, to find Yoda running in circles, eyes darting from one side to the other, then we found the empty box. I called emergency vet, he said to keep Yoda calm, monitor him and keep his body temp down, and to call him back a couple hours later. Yoda did not get better, he could not sit or stand, he just ran and ran, to no avail. I could NOT get hold of the assface emergency vet the entire night. I sat on the floor the entire night, trying to coax Yoda to chill out, but he was freaking out. He eventually starting walking backwards, and running backwards...affects of neurological probs.

Our car broke down yesterday, so did not have a car to even find someone, some vet, anyone to help us. I had to watch him go through this till 8.30am, when the vet down the road from us opened, and Nick's boss came to fetch us to take Yoda.

It's now 1.20pm, and I have not had good news at all. the vet is very worried, as our baby has very high blood pressure, his little heart is pounding still. The sedatives she gave him help him rest, but his eyes are still darting about. She says the drugs she needs to and wants to give him, are EFFING BANNED in this ****** country ! CAN U BELIEVE THAT ! Im sick to my stomach.

News is that this overdose can cause Yoda blindness, and even loss of life. I just cannot handle this thought, I cannot. Im fighting to stay strong, I dnt knw what to do or say, just that I really really need your prayers for Yoda to get through this okay. Our baby is only turning 1 on Friday.
