Charlie Charlie has a uterine infection...metritis...... I caught it early...and hopefully all will be well! I have to give her 3 shots a day through tomorrow. Within 3 minutes of the shot..she starts to pant, drool, and dig........has had the runs twice. Can throw up! This is the 4th shot....... Not fun! I'm amazing myself that I can do this! I'm petrified of needles!! Still able to feed babies...thankfully! She's also on clavamox, but have to figure out a time schedule for that as she cannot eat 3 hrs before or two hours after. Shots every 8 hrs..... pills every 12...last one conflicts!
Please see her rid of this and the rest of this going smoothly!

On the upside...got 6 + hrs of sleep last night with help here! Now on own til Monday probably with maybe someone here for 2-3 hrs sometime!!!! Will have to pull her out and sleep for a few hours with her on the couch as it's cooler there!

Poor girl! Maybe a Benedryl 15 minutes before would help with the pant/drool problem? Lisa or the vet would be more help!
Hope she gets better fast and you get some rest!

No.....she's on raglan for her stomach. It's do to nausea....and uterine contractions. Passes fairly quickly....usually done 45 minutes!
Needs to expel the infection!

So the shots are to stimulate uterine contractions and the clavamox is the only antibiotic?
Poor little Charlie. I'm so proud of you! I too had to get over a paralyzing fear of needles. I am still VERY uncomfortable with IM shots, but sub-q are now a breeze. I give clavamox with food, I checked in the Merck Vet Manual and it doesn't mention giving it on an empty stomach, is there a reason they want it on an empty stomach?
