    DefaultToddy's got pancreatitis

He vomited a few times yesterday but was cheerful so I was not unduly concerned.

At 5am he woke me up, crying, but didn't want a potty trip. I brought him back to bed with me and he just couldn't get comfortable. He was tossing and turning every minute. It was grim - he was really struggling.

Took him to the vet this morning and he was admitted due to a high temperature and dehydration. They have rung to say their tests reveal pancreatitis, plus we have an elevated white blood count, liver enzymes and bilirubin. All not entirely unexpected, but disappointing.

I'm picking him up later today as their overnight kennels are not staffed and the emergency vet clinic which is staffed is disgraceful and I refuse to use it.

At present I am not desperately worried, but all good thoughts would be much appreciated. Toddy's a little trooper, but delicate, and he's been through so much already. We can do without this.

Didn't he go through this before his surgery as a puppy. Poor little man. His mother was tough as nails and game to boot. May her strength carry him.

After his gallbladder ruptured (and we nearly lost him) he had a couple of bouts of pancreatitis. It was to be expected, given the general disruption to his insides. Even before the rupture his innards were very delicate and they remain so. Hence I watch him like a hawk and do not allow him to eat anything that could trigger pancreatitis via diet. But we were warned at the time that there could be recurrences. It's been a long time so I guess we are lucky, really.

He is a fighter, like his mother, so I'm sure he'll be fine. It's just so awful knowing they're in such discomfort.
