What are the rules on Tylenol, Advil, Asprin for dogs??
NO Tylenol, probably not Advil. I do give the Pugs baby Asprin and the big dog buffered Asprin.
No advil No tylenol
a buffered aspirin is ok but I would check the dose.
NO TYLENOL, IBUPROFEN, ADVIL!!!! They can have a baby asprin or a buffered asprin as Dawn said, but please always check with your vet before giving any meds to your animals!
What is medication needed for?
Absolutely no Advil!!!!!!!!!!! No Tylenol, either. Rimadyl is the veterinary equivalent of Advil, that is safe for dogs, but if your dog is on any sort of cortisone, Rimadyl cannot be given in conjunction with it.
Never give any human pain relievers of any kind to dogs, other than low dose, or baby aspirin, and that only in moderation. It is not meant for daily use. 1/2 tablet of an 83 mg low dose, or baby aspirin, is all that should be used for a dog the size of a pug.
Also............for those with cats...........Tylenol will kill a cat. Never, never, never give a cat any sort of pain reliever, not even aspirin, without talking to a vet.
