We requested a home visit from Wonka's breeder. She thought it was a great idea, so she brought him over for a visit before we decided if we wanted him.

None of the breeders I've got dogs from have wanted to do home visits, but I knew them in some cases, or we at least knew of each other through conformation shows or agility trials. Most of my dogs were from breeders a fair distance away too. Kittie was almost 5 hours and Indy was over 7 hours.

The lady that I got Bella from lives a good 6 hours drive away so no home visit. She did have me fill out a long questionnaire, including references and my vets info. I was on a waiting list and we emailed back and forth for about 6 months.
The breeder that I got Toby from lived pretty close, but didn't do a home visit. She didn't ask many questions, but I told her about myself and she said she was glad he was going with me. Hope this helps.

I didn't have any home visits for my girls. I don't believe Emmy's cared enough.
I knew Diane very well before I got my girls. So it wasn't an issue. I have stayed with her before and my house is always open to her. I doubt I would really buy a dog from anybody but her either. I have got 3 pugs from her and as a bonus I got a really good friend.
