My female is 55-59 days pregnant. Last night I was watching her belly as she slept and I could see the puppies moving around. I read somewhere that as the puppies move down the birth canal you can see them move, does this mean that the time is really close for the little guys to arrive? I'm wondering what others have noticed about this?

When Jazzy had her pups, they only signs she showed were being really restless and not eating her breakfast. The pups also slowed way down, the night before thay were kicking like soccer players, and that morning, they were barely moving. I was a little worried that they had stopped moving, but 20 min. later she was delivering pups every 15 mins. and everything was fine. I still think she delayed having pups till I gave her my pillow in the whelping box (her favorite sleeping spot)
Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck, and watch your girl like a hawk.

How exciting - could be any time!

If she is 59 days along, they could come in the next day or two. I have known pugs to deliver good healthy puppies at 60 days and some who've hung on till day 68.

As Odin says - I think the best sign of imminent babies is not eating. It is so magical to feel them moving about isn't it?

Got towels, scissors, hotwater bottle, puppy milk substitute and bottle feeder(just in case), scales, a clock, a note book and pencil, a bedded box in case of vet trips etc all lined up I bet! Hope all goes well.
Almandine and the gang - George, Dannika, Darwishi (Wish) and Pickle.... and who knows.... maybe a new little boy too...

Samson, Treacle, Maisie and the beautiful Onion at the Bridge. In our hearts forever.
