Ms. Sally's babies are only 42 day's old. The word is starting to " get out" that I will soon have puppies available.
So far the puppies love the crate, love to eat puppy food and I manage to " catch them" before they do their bidness on my floors. I then take them out and do happy dances when they go peepee. ( I am ecentric! LOL )
A young couple came to visit... they want a puppy baaaad. They have 2 kids. 3 yr old boy and a 1 1/2 yr old girl. Puppies were great with them.
Problem was mom wasn't paying attention when the little girl tried to carry the puppy by the neck. I made a point of standing close by, but watching to see how attentive the mom and dad were.
I then find out they live in a 2 bedroom apt. ( sect 8), have no yard.. and that the last puppy they had.. a complaint was made because they didn't pick up after it, so they " had to take it to her mom's).
I already had my mind made up.. then she tells me that the same pup taken to her mom's had gotten in to some antifreeze, they couldn't afford to take it to the vet, so they put it in a cage outside and waited for it to die!!!!!!! This just TRIPLE confirmed that these people do NOT need a dog.
At this point, I am just determined to keep them all myself! Dad say's no![]()
I haven't advertised my babies... For those that have found great homes for their new babies... would you mind sharing with me the process you go through? I don't want to take a chance and just " sell" my babies to just anybody.
Thanks in advance..
Terrie
they don't need a dog?

OMG! Those people definately shouldn't have a puppy!!![]()
I don't have any advice as to how to find a good home. I guess this is one reason I wouldn't be able to breed pugs. Plus with so much parvo here, I would be soooo afraid someone coming to see the puppies would expose the pups to it.![]()

AMEN to that sista! I don't think they deserve any animals either. As soon as they said that about letting the pet die... I rushed them out of my door without so much as a " nice to meet ya"
I have a picture of me at age 2 holding our beagle mix puppy and basically hanging him by the neck. While I never actually hurt him, I want to use this as why small children should NOT have puppies!!!
As for finding homes, are you a member of your local pug club? They usually have a lot of people looking for a reputable breeder and they will contact a litter liason. I know here, all of the breeders have homes picked out before they breed. (and most have more potential homes than puppies).
If they are only 42 days old, you have another 6 weeks until any of them should be placed anyway, so that should give you plenty of time to interview potential purchasers.

We don't know of any pug club here in AR. We moved here about a year ago... my neighbor has 2 pugs, and I have pmed Milo's mom. She lives close by.
I know if I search I will be able to find something around here.
I have been told " take em to the corner and sell them" GASP !!!!!!!!!! NO WAY IN **** because I don't know who or what kind of person would get one of my babies.
I look forward to any and all advice on how to find the best forever mama's for my babies.
First order of buisness will to find a local pug club, somewhere in AR or MO . Thank you so much for that piece of advice.

Those "people" don't deserve animals--and maybe not children!

Terrie:
Go to a couple of the rescue websites and look at our adoption applications. That will give you a basic idea of what rescues ask for. Our rescue requires an application, references and a home visit before we will ocnsider placing a dog with anyone. We also try to do meet and greets with potential adopters if they have resident animals already.
You can never be too careful, I think.
Could you turn them over to a pug rescue? I know they work really hard to find great homes.
We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. Acklam
