First week update

The babies were one week old this morning and are just growing like weeds! They both weigh right around a pound and are fat, contented little puglets. They are as alike in size and structure as two peas in a pod - even the little bit of white they were both born with is rapidly disappearing - and the only sure way to tell them apart is to check sex.
Diva is actually fond of them, in her own way - even licks them once in a while - but still, for the most part, feels that the gross stuff is up to mom. They both have their official call names now.. The boy, of course, is OZ, and the girl is now called "Dazzle" for her sparkling, fiery personality. OZ is already showing his mother's temperament - quiet and snuggly, happy to sleep in the palm of my hand, and all business when it comes to eating. Dazzle is more active, constantly moving while she eats and yanking on poor Diva's nipples like she wants to pull them right off. She's very snuggly too, but needs more time getting her tummy rubbed before she falls asleep in my hands. She really reminds me more of Chubby who has always had a very strong "look at me" attitude...

I finally gave up on the theme idea, unless you consider style a theme... OZ remains "SmugPugs Wizard of Ahhhs" but I've decided to name Dazzle "SmugPugs Cause For Applause". I like the theme idea but it's really kind of unnecessary with only 2 pups.

Please forgive the quality of the photos... I will have a digital camera in time for their first mobile photos, but for now I'm relying on my phone camera...
