Here is the camera-hating Mama who is going to be 6 weeks pregnant on Sunday evening. You might also note that our concerns over kibble have brought back some brown in the coat but I can't be too careful and that is the only problem we have ever had with it.

She's so cute! My two black pugs that I've had always have a little brown in the coat- you don't really see it unless the sun is shining on it. What does that mean?

I think part of it is genetic but part of it is the food they eat. I have no idea what it is. It is not sugar beets, trust me! Certain foods cause it in her coat. My Polo always, always ahs a jet black coat. Maybe it is because hers is a seal coat??

Myra - does she carry the fawn gene?? Diva's breeder and I were talking, before she whelped, about the possibility that she was a homozygous black because she has a blue-black coat. We still can't be absolutely sure from only 4 pups but they were all black and I'm trying to figure out from research if that could be a clue to whether they're dominant or not.

LOL.. All of us seem to be breeding our black girls to fawn boys... Wonder what the diehard "never cross the colors" breeders are thinking about us...
