I think the last post covered pretty much everything I would have suggested.
A big rubbish bag is good - to throw out any yukky stuff. The sacs can spill dark dye onto things and it can be awful to wash out. I throw out all my towels after use.
I ended up buying a vivarium heat pad. It's metal and just gets gently warm - about the temp a puppy should be anyway. Always cover any wiring to it and leave space for the pups to crawl off it onto a cool bit of the box if they need to but when they are newborn you'll be watching them anyway.
Did you get hold of a good book? "The book of the bitch" is fantastic (and it's cudos on your bookshelf! Lol!
Do you have a drop of brandy to hand? I have used a drop on the tongue of a puppy if you can't get him breathing. Have water nearby for the bitch. Have a seperate box on hand with puppy nest in it incase you have to take her midwhelp and she delivers some in the car. I usually keep a spare set of whelping kit in the car in case.
Have the phone and the vet's number on hand and someone to drive you if you need them.
I do hope all goes well.
Almandine and the gang - George, Dannika, Darwishi (Wish) and Pickle.... and who knows.... maybe a new little boy too...
Samson, Treacle, Maisie and the beautiful Onion at the Bridge. In our hearts forever.
