    Default Differences in Pugs?

Is there a web site that describes with photos the differences between Fawn, Silver Fawn, and Apricot Fawn pugs? Color variations are not important to me as we do NOT plan on breeding Mu-Shu but being educated on the subject is something that I would like to be.
    Thank you.

I don't know of a web site, but there's a great example with lots of pictures in a thread posted today by Not Afraid of her apricot, Thurston Howl. He's very handsome! See how he's got a distinctive reddish, orangey tint to him? I love it!

Thanks! I think Thurston is very striking. lol It's so funny, but since we got Mu-Shu, I am becoming very aware of all the suttle differences in pugs. Up until him, I just had not paid to much attention to pugs and thought that they all looked alike. (forgive me puggies!) It is funny to me when someone comes up to us and says, "Oh, I have one at home that looks just like him!" NO You Do Not! My boy is very distinctive and I could pick him out of a whole herd of puggies!

Yes - you will have to get used to it. We get the "they look just alike" comment all the time. I want to get smart with people and say - well they are the same breed so that certainly accounts for some of it... (or worse)

But they say no two zebras look alike and I'd have a hard time telling them apart :)

Sassa and Otis look totally different. Their head shape
is a little different and Otis has a lot of black on him and
Sassa has none except for her mask.

Everyone thinks Thurston is a Puggle or some other mix because of his color. I always have to explain that fawn pugs have a range of shades.
"If I were a pediatrician and a mother told me, "it's just too hard making healthy food everyday for my kid, I'm just going to feed Total cereal everyday, it's 100% nutritionally complete," we'd all feel sorry for her kid. I am a vet, and when people tell me "I've found a really good dry food, I think I'...ll feed it everyday for the rest of my pets life," why don't we feel equally sad?" Dr. Karen Becker

I love Thurston! He's such a gentleman, but wait, oh this is about looks....he has a very unique face and color to him, a very handsome dude. I don't think he looks like a puggle, but I can *almost* see how an uneducated person would ask because of his color and his snout.

As far as educating yourself on the standard and acceptable colors the Pug Dog Club of America is a great place to start.
