    Talking Finally!!! Skin problems resolving!!

I wanted to share this with everyone in case there is anyone else out there that has faced this frustrating situation. Our pug Pugsley has been suffering from a horrible skin problem which has caused fur loss, redness, scabs, itchiness, etc. for THREE YEARS! We've been to several vets and no one had any ideas other than the standard "it must be allergies". We tried the special foods for allergies, the monthly cortisone shots, followed by antibiotics to deal with the staph infection that followed the cort. shots, etc. It was just horrible and Pugsley was grumpy and miserable. I posted on several pug web sites and no one had any other ideas either. I was at a total loss and felt horrible that I couldn't "make it better" for my sweet puggie. Well, a vet tech told me to contact a lady in our town that had dealt with various skin problems for other people's pets by using special additives to their foods, etc. I wasn't really into the idea of supplements and holistic stuff but I was desperate. She told me about something called "leaky gut syndrome" where the body has an overload of yeast in the intestines and it will work it's way out through the skin, causing the symptoms Pugsley was having. I really am more of a black-and-white, prove it to me kind of person, I need scientific proof. But after waiting another 2 months, I finally called her back and asked what she would recommend. She told me about a product called Nzymes, which she had or I could order online and I decided to go ahead and try it, I had no other options. I am NOT trying to endorse any brand or product. I am just a normal pug lover like everyone on here but I wanted to tell you guys about this since I wish I'd heard about it myself years ago. There are two powders/granules that you mix into his food and also some drops that go in the drinking water each day. That's all. I didn't give it much hope but in two weeks, I noticed my nearly-bald pug had new hair growing! Everyone in my family kept saying "I think he looks better! I think he's getting more hair!!" He was scratching less, he was in a happier mood and he went from sickly looking and smelly to getting more fur and less scabs in only two weeks! They warn you with this product that after about a month, they will go through a "cleansing" period where alot of the yeast in the gut will come out through the skin and they will look really bad for a little bit. That finally happened and he was pretty lethargic and had tons of scabs. I used the medicated shampoo they recommended (from my vets) and he was much better in two days. Now Pugsley looks almost like he did 3 years ago when this all started! We will keep him on the Nzymes until I run out of them to be sure but my boy is SO much better in only a month and he's happy! He's enjoying life again and absolutely has a bounce in his step and a sparkle in his eyes again. I would have never ever believed someone else telling me this, I was just so desperate. Even our vet who was very doubtful was amazed when I dropped by to show him Pugsleys progress. So, once again, NOT to be selling or endorsing any product, I only wanted to share a success story with anyone out there that needs help with this kind of situation. It never was allergies...he had an imbalance of yeast in his system (had lots of yeasty ear infections, etc. too). Now he's so much better I wish I'd known about this years ago. I need to find a way to post his before and after pictures on here so you can see the difference! Amazing!!

I'm glad it worked!!! I tried it with my Suli and nada... Tried all different types of food... no help at all... had her blood work done a "Gold Standard" test and the only food she has problems with is cooked egg and that was a 7 on a scale of 100... her biggest problem is dust mites, 100 on the scale and some types of grass was 70.... She would break out a few times a year and would be totally miserable.

We read about Atopica and asked the vet about it. She's been on it for two months now and what a difference... She's become a lil fuzz ball!!! Hair everywhere, softer skin... hardly and itching or licking...

It's so nice to find something that works!!! We just kept trying until we found something...
