Bruce had his last heartworm injection a month ago and when we took him this last Saturday he was all clear! The vet at Petsmart gave him Drontal to take care of worms, but they didn't tell us what worms he had.
A week after taking the Drontal, I took him out this morning and in his poop were a few live roundworms. From what I've read Drontal is usually a fast-acting medication. Does it sound like it's working? Or should I take him back to the vet? I find it really hard to trust the vets at Petsmart. Soon we will be finding Bruce a new, trustworthy vet. By the way, if anyone in the Orlando (central Florida) area could recommend a vet, that would be great!
Thanks for any and all your help!!
Ash
I am not sure but I would not trust the vets at Petsmart either.
Good Luck, heartworm is awful.

Poor Bruce! I think I would have a stool sample checked by a real vet, too. I've always wondered about the qualifications of a vet who sets up shop in a pet store. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but JMO.
