I usually do not get to post on this site, but I am on every day. I was just wondering if someone else has had this happen to their puggie. I took my Gizmo (he is 6yrs old) to the vet for a small red lump near his lip the other day. He told me he thinks it will go away on its on, but if not to see him in three weeks to look at it again and then the next day have it removed. The only thing he told me (I try not to think about it) is that if it is something else (cancer) it would be really bad. I am hoping it is just a mole or something that even if it needs to be removed it is nothing. I just had a fatty tumor removed from his leg about 6 months ago and it was nothing.
I hope it is nothing serious and goes away.
If it is a cancerous lump this does not necessarily mean they can't get it out cleanly so try not to worry too much.

Well it has been 1 1/2 weeks since I took Gizmo to the vet to check the bump near his lip and I think the vet was right. It seems to be going away. It was bright red and now a very light pink and has shrunk a little. I am so glad![]()

I'm sorry I missed the original thread!!!! Glad that it is going away!!!
You know....just because things don't go away, it doesn't mean it's anything bad!!! Ben had a lump on his leg.....aspirated it and the vet I saw said it was okay and would go away on it's own. A month later...it not only wasn't gone..it was a bit bigger. Took him in and did see a different vet then...but might have been the same with the original vet...aspirated it again.....Then gave me medication to put on it for a fungus or infection.....if it didn't go away, it would need to come out. Medication worked like a charm!
Good to read a positive update on Gizmo. Thank you for letting us know.

If he's getting any more of them, it might just be a puggie "pimple"....do you feed him in plastic bowls? Switching to stainless steel or ceramic can help with that. Also, if he leaves his meals with some debris on his china and cheeks, you might want to wipe his face with a warm washcloth or baby wipe.
Glad it was nothing, though!
