Ruby is 6 months old and scheduled for her surgery tomorrow. We have a 3 day weekend so I can watch over her and I've done my food shopping so that I don't have to go out. I'm a little worried and anxious even though I've had my dogs spayed before without any incidents. Ruby will be microchipped at the same time and her nails clipped.
At the moment she is lying on top of me with her sweet face on my shoulder...I feel so guilty about tomorrow!
Awwwww... I'm sure she'll be fine and will be back in your arms in no time!

I'm sure she'll be absolutely fine. She'll probably be back to her normal self within a day!

Please don't feel guilty! You're doing all the good things for her....I feel that she will be fine! I always do the same thing if my dogs have to be anesthetized for any reason--I tell the vet as long as they are doing o.k. with the anesthesia, could you please clip her nails, & check her teeth at the same time? We had the microchip put in at spay time, also. Will keep you & Ruby in my thoughts & prayers tomorrow. Please let us know how she does! Rugbysmom
Will be praying for you and Ruby tomorrow. We'll be watching for updates.

Thanks so much for the kind thoughts - they are really appreciated. Ruby is now home and resting. She was ravenous - but I only gave her a small meal as per the vet's instructions. They found that she had a small ulcer on each eye and have given me antibiotic ointment to put in her eyes three times a day. I am so glad they found this so early!!! She was also diagnosed with dry eye and I was told that she would need drops in her eyes twice a day for life. The drops are very expensive - $80 per bottle. Now I don't mind spending anything for my baby, but I have read many pugs on this forum with drops and I don't remember anyone mentioning they were so expensive. Does this sound normal - maybe the prices are different in the US??
I'm glad to hear she did well! We use Cyclosporin 1% in corn oil and the vet visit and drops are $75.
Glad Ruby is home and doing well. I'm sorry to hear about her eyes but it's good they found out now and it can be treated.
