How old is Gracie and how long has her ear been this way?
Most likely you are dealing with a food allergy. It's most common manifestation is infected, itchy ears.
Before we tackle the food issue, let's start with the ear. Mix together the following solution:
1/3 c. white vinegar
1/3 c. rubbing alcohol
1/3 c. witch hazel
10 drops tea tree oil
Put it in a bottle with a pull up squirt top, like dishwashing liquid comes in.
Squirt the mixture into the ear to fill the ear canal. Rub the base of the ear to allow it to get deep into the ear. Let the dog shake. Now swab out the ear with dry q-tips...repeat if you get a lot of nasty q-tips.
Do this at least once a day until the infection clears, then do it once a week to both ears as maintenance. This solution can be dribbled on q-tips and used to clean the nose roll as well.
If at all possible take your pug to the vet to get some Mometamax which is an antibiotic/antifungal lotion (prescription) to put in his ear as well.
Once you get a handle on his ear infection we can move to his probable food allergy. What is he being fed, including treats and snacks?
Take care,
Lisa
